I awoke this morning and I thought of you

The birds were singing,
the dew was glistening,
and the orange of the sunrise raced across the sky

And I cried

I cried because I was not with you

I cried because love filled my heart so much it hurt
I cried because of the lost days...hours...moments...

And as I cried, I saw the first rays of the sun

And I smiled

For I knew that at that moment, miles away,
you thought of me
