A tribute to a friend who passed away

You were the sparkle in my eyes
The music in my heart
I wasn’t ready for you to leave
For us to be apart

And life’s a little plainer now
The sky is not as blue
The night is so much longer than
The nights I shared with you

I miss you more than I ever thought
That I’d miss anyone
But I know that you watch over me
Just like you’ve always done

I close my eyes and see you still
Time never will erase
The joy I felt inside my heart
To look upon your face

I lost the Sparkle in my eyes
But I still see it shine
The sparkle shines in God’s eyes now
The way it sparkled once in mine
